Does anyone know the manufacturing process for hooks?

I know a little bit about automatic wire forming as I work for a spring manufacturer, so I have a pretty good idea of how the eyes, spades and bends would be formed and I know about the heat treatment and cleaning side as well.

But how do they form the points? I imagine they must be either rolled, ground or pressed on?

The wires have a point put on both ends by grinding, then barbs cut, chopped in two, bent to shape, forged, ringed, tempered. points cleaned chemically, coated.

Points can be needle or hollow point.
