what fish is it mainly used for a friend of mine uses it on the river

stick it in a bucket. pour enough boiling water on it so you can start moulding it into balls. add any freebies, molasses etc and then ball it in or mould around a method feeder.

i add brown crumb to mine as it can become quite stodgy.

good for tench, carp, bream

Excellent in spring and summer as already said. Never used it in winter but my gut feeling tells me it would be good as a groundbait scattered in the margins (not balled)
