Happy New Year all,

Had my first trip of the year out on a boat at Barnsfold Water in Lancashire on 2nd January. Managed to get 5 rainbows. Most came on small bloodworm patterns. My two biggest fish came to the top dropper where I was experimenting with a pattern from the fly swap. It was the Lily the Pink pattern Graham tied. Correct me if I' wrong Graham but a bead head and bright pink silk wrapped around the hook in a buzzer shape. Haven't a clue what they took it for but takes were confident and I fished it static?

Anone else had much luck on any of the flies from the swap?

Cheers

Rich

That's the one Richard. Accounted for a lot of fish has Lily. It's especially good in winter when the fish seem to like bright colours. It works both retrieved slowly and static.

Not had much chance to try the others from the fly swap yet.
