so how confident are we then this weekend with a lift in temp and a nice good south blow onto the fens (and most other places) to get them zeds active?

Be interested if the zeds go bearing in mind how cold the drains and rivers are and how much nitrate crap's coming down them.

Couple of my mates had good hits Saturday, no zeds though. Sunday sounded like deadsville everywhere.

I think part of the problem is we've had hardly any rain, so the crap that normally gets flushed through in October and November is still trickling into the rivers.

I've literally got out of the coloured water coming down a river on the boat into a backwater where it's clear and had fish straight away.

We need a real deluge, all bets off for a week and then we might get a good last month or so.
