In the same vein as my other thread regarding rare books , i have also found in my fathers collection Coarse Fishing, by Frederick Cowburn, printed 1963. This is class!
There are photos of the author on the bank getting ready to strike, In A Suit!! Polished shoes , collar and tie , the works. His Daughter "Jennifer" i assume is also photographed in a spendid pose at her "First Attempt" at fishing , on the bank at Tatton Mere, Cheshire, which he describes as a "Splendid water for big fish".
One of the best photos in the book is one of "Half Term Youngsters" fishing one of the ponds on Hamstead Heath. Aged between 10 and 15 , some of these rapscallions have got to be members of "Fishing Magic" or surely fathers of our elite web site members. Any of you ever fished Hamstead Heath ponds?
