cup kit

hi i want a cup kit for my pole i have a spare top kit rated at 8 to 12 elastic if i cut this back would it be strong enough for a cup kit?,thanks in advance.

should be ok . obviously if you cut the top 2 down your feed will be nearer to you than the actual length of your pole, (which is not always a bad thing)
depends on how many top2s you have. If it's your only spare I would keep it and buy a universal cupkit or top 2 and convert that.........
