Fishing in Kenya

My local tackle dealer, Dave Pickering, is going to Kenya this year. He's staying at the White Sands Hotel which is 15km from Mombassa.

Does anyone have any information about the fishing in this area?

I used to Graham, but no doubt my info will be dated by now.

The sea fishing in that area used to be fabulous. But I get the impression that it's millionaires corner now.

Kenya is a magnificent country.

There is actually some trout fishing in some of the mountain streams after trout were stocked when it was a British colony.Who said empire left no lasting legacy!

The Kiptiget River in the Kenya Highlands has wild brown and rainbow trout.

The high rivers of Kenya and Southern Africa were stocked with brown and rainbow trout by the British in the late 19th century.

I have fished several of them.

By the way, brown trout are native to Africa. The streams of the Atlas mountains in Morocco have always held them.

I think he's interested in the fishing off the beach close to the hotel and from a boat.
