i own one of these poles,can anyone tell me the elastic rating which this is suitable for.
also can anyone offer a comparrison on the different elastics,ie daiwa hydro,solid elas etc,which is the equivilent colours and number rating,all advice greatly apreciated from this old guy

I think it has a rating of 18 elastic, but should cope with a 12-20 hydro.

I have one too, Keith. Don't push it beyond a 14s and frankly 12s is a better maximum. You really don't need strong elastics anyway to land fairly big carp. If they run off, stick the pole tip under the water and they'll come back.

The Black Shadow is an all-rounder and not a power carp pole anyway.
