Big pit for greys prodigy sx 3lb

Hi,
I need some help in chosing a reel for the greys prodigy sx rod.
i was tooing and frowing about the shimano bait runners and a big pit x2.
my budget for each reel is maxinum £70.

As you are on a relatively tight budget as far as big pit reels go I'd first look at whether you really need a big pit at all. So many carpers are using them when they really don't need to. Ponds of a few acres, where it's almost impossible to cast much more than fifty yards, don't really require the use of big pit reels. You may not think that's the case seeing many carpers on such waters.
Are you really chucking around 100 yards or more on a regular basis? If not, you'll get a better reel for your money buying a standard Baitrunner style reel.

Lathams on tinternet shimano gte 6000c 64squid,superb reels .Do you realy need big pits
