read a bit about these poles and are supposed to be very good, anyone have or had one,if so what is it like to fish with, and basically are they any good,a bit worried because the prices have dropped quite a lot, sometimes this is because people wont buy them cause they are not very good, any views please

I dont know about the CFS Keith, but my dads got the MAP 14.5m carptec and it is a very good pole for the money ( about ?240)

I went with him when he bought it and we tried all the sub-?300 poles and it was the best my a long way.

Ive just realised, I think we may be getting our poles mixed up a bit here.

The CFS is by leeda ( map may have one of the same name but if they do I have not seen it)

The three I think we have mixed up are..

1. MAP Carptek Commercial Power 14.5m ?275
2. MAP Carptek Generation Carp 14.5m ?225
3. Leeda Comercial Fishery Specialist
13m ?139 14.5m ?179

(prices are as advertised by Calcotts, Sheffield)

the one my dad has is the Generation Carp, and as I say, for the money is very good, so I am sure the Commercial power will be good too. Not tried the Leeda one so can't comment.

to be honest Eddie, I would'nt want to use any of these at full length for any length of time, they are fine at 9.5/11m but once you put the last sections on they become a bit awkward, but I was last in the queue when they were handing out the arm muscles.

you get what you pay for don't you, if you want a truly useable 14.5m pole youve got to spend a lot more than ?300
