I have just moved to Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, from Bury.

Most of my carp fishing over the last few years has been done in Cheshire at places like Lymmvale, Tabley Moat etc.

I have just moved to Huddersfield and seem to be stuck for anywhere to go carping. I look for:

Somewhere pretty and interesting with good nature
Somewhere I can night fish and catch decent carp - doubles and twenties ideally
Somewhere the local scallies do not have their parties
Somewhere where noddies do not spoil your enjoyment by making noise

Is there such a place nearby? I will happily travel. Or do I need to keep travelling back to Cheshire to my old haunts?

Can anyone help a desperate isolated angler?

I was working at Slaithewaite a few years ago and seem to remember a quite large water out of Slow'ate up in the hills??, it could be seen from the road. I'm pretty sure it was recently in a weekly, possibly monthly where to fish feature. Local tackle shop should point you in the right direction.

Or take Cakeys' advice and move south for the easy waters ;-)

Probably not Cakey, all the decent waters up this way are hammered to death.
