I am looking for a set of cheap ingredients, that will give a good attractive bed of bait, without speding a fortune on pellets. Any ideas?

hemp tares groats. a very good combo
this time of year.sweetcorn in my opinion is 2 big and bright, if the water is low and clear like on my local lake corn will attract the wildlife. [bless um].

I agree to a certain extent. Clear lakes can be a real cahllenge - but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Coloured lakes really do come into their own at this time of year.

Depends on the amount of angling pressure a lake receives.

This was your original question catman, hence my question above.

So, have you decided yet, based on what information has been given you?

I like the sound of seed baits. I had already bought a bag of bird seed but wanted to wait and see if anyone else suggested something along those lines. Maybe add liquidised sweetcorn to it and get some groats and tares.
