On the road to rack & ruin !!!
i must admit that at times in the past,i found some of the articles in coarse fisherman rather heavy going.this was probably due to the fact that i was more orientated towards the commercial type of fishery and match type angling and found the magazine perhaps too specialized.
i always buy a copy of improve your coarse fishing every month but tend to skip through it now unless there is an article that really catches my eye.i suppose i buy it because i have purchased a copy of every single issue since day one but as i`ve mentioned, very rarely read all of it.
getting back to coarse fisherman magazine....over the past few months i have found it an excellent read and often keep thumbing through it to read articles over and over again.i have really enjoyed reading neil wayte`s personal best articles and i have read his barbel one goodness knows how many times now!!!
the latest issue will be coming to work with me tomorrow and when i`m parked up with my tacho on break out it will come from my work bag with my flask.
many thanks to all who make the magazine what it is.

p.s
lets hope it wont be long before the nene features in the great british barbel rivers.

If you liked that mag then check out Coarse Angling Today if you can find it. I get both and they're both cracking reads.

Terry I found that some issues of Coarse Angling Today was so barbel biased I got a bit bored mate, articles etc were all top class reads but just very little variation!

Got to agree with you there Nick. Coarse Fisherman is the only mag that takes me more than ten minutes to read.

IYCF has does its best not to 'improve'. In fact since the re-vamp its more like a comic!

When IYCF came out it was absolutely brill, but the slant went towards carp puddles, whilst popular with some, it just doesnt do it for me!

Eddie, just had to check Feb's CAT mag. 9 articles and 2 on barbel, with a couple of barbel pics in Stef's chub article. Nevertheless, a good read.

CAT could do with a few new writers.

Stef and Phil's joint exploits on Throop are becoming a little samey with all respect to them.

How about something on river Raoch for a change?

After saying that most mags need the ads to make the money to help publish and CF is as good a mag as any on the market.I dont like the look of that old bloke near the back with his musings, looks a nasty piece of work to me

Some of the best articles in CF have been done by Neil Wayte who like most blokes with a beard and tash talk a lot of sense

yes john i`ve really enjoyed neils barbel and chub articles....i have found them informative with a good hands on aproach and not too heavy reading like some specialised articles can be.for someone like myself who has only been fishing using a more specialised aproach for a relatively short period of time compaired to you chaps,i`ve found them and indeed the magazine as a whole recently most enjoyable.
i would have no problem with reccomending the magazine to anyone who wants to make the move from the commercial side of our sport or someone who wants to take up angling.

Neil's a damn nice bloke as well. I used to bump into him on the Medway last season (I think he dropped his ticket this year)and he was always ready with a tip or hint.
