Has anyone seen the latest technology in the manufacture of fishing rods. In the States it's called "HexTech" and although the idea looks a little like the Hexagraph stuff by Bruce and Walker, the construction enables the blank to be much lighter.

Obviously the first type of rod which is now incorporating this technology is the bait casting rod, of which more are sold in the world than any other type.

Second will come fly rods of course.

Rods made using this construction will possess more controllable power than a tube I am told.
