Wild Trout Trust (WTT) Annual Get-together

We would like to invite you to our Annual Meeting on 1st April at The Haddon Estate (Derbyshire Wye).

The 2006 Annual Meeting will be held at Youlgreave village hall on the Haddon Estate, Derbyshire on Saturday 1 April. It is open to members, non-members, clubs, riparian owners and anyone interested in our conservation work, and how we can provide direct assistance to those wishing to undertake wild trout management and restoration projects.

Tickets are available from the office; they are free but we would appreciate a donation towards lunch on the day.

Coffee and a welcome from chairman Richard Slocock begin the programme at 10am. This will be followed by director Simon Johnson?s Annual Review and two fascinating talks on entomology by Stuart Crofts and Peter Hayes.

The afternoon?s events take on a more informal format, on the famous, private Duke?s beat on the Lathkill will include rod-testing (with Ian Maclean and Paul Procter of Orvis), entomology kick-sampling and identification, fly-tying and a river-walk. Various experts will be on hand during the afternoon to answer all your questions on conservation, fisheries management.

Tea & cake complete daytime activities at about 4pm.


On Saturday evening there is an opportunity to attend a dinner ? with a champagne reception, guest speaker a highly acclaimed fishing author and journalist Jon Beer, and an after-dinner auction of a few choice lots (fishing, tackle, vintage port, malt whisky, etc) at the East Lodge Hotel, Rowsley. Dinner tickets are ?55 (from the office), which includes wine and a whole day?s river fishing on the Sunday on exclusive beats very kindly donated by local clubs and estates.
