Hi Mick

I've got no idea if that's a good price or not! I've just been on ebay and want to sell 3 fly rods I have:-

1. Greys Greyflex 10' #8/9 (2 piece) in perfect condition.
2. Leeda dragonfly (hand built) 10' 6" #6/7 (2 piece) in very good condition.
3. Diawa Lochmor-Z 10' #8 (2 piece) Good condition but the cork is missing off the butt piece.

I'm selling them as my husband - Jock Hodge (inventor of that big, scary lure - The Humungus), died in 2003 a few days before the team he captained (Lochleven Flycasters) took part in yet another Scottish final!

I've no idea how much I should ask for them - does anyone???

Hi J

Those rods are pretty specialised tools and putting a value on them is difficult. With the exception of the Leeda rod they are a bit on the heavy side for general trout fishing. The Greyflex isn't in the current catalogue, but the current range retails at about ?160 so you'd be looking at between ?80 and ?100 second hand. The Leeda I would guess at about ?40 and the Lochmore will be difficult to sell without the handle corks, but it is a quality rod and worth repairing so I would go for about ?30.

Ebay will be very hit and miss on rods like these. The best bet might be a small ad on the notice board on the lodge at Loch Leven (assuming they have a notice board) or contacting the Loch Leven Flycasters as they probably have a newsletter in which you can advertise.

Hope that helps.

Hi Sean

Thanks for that. I've got a much better idea now of what I should be looking to sell for. (Have also replied on the other thread).

Thanks again

June
