River Clwyd

I may be spending a week later in the summer after close season in north Wales and one of the places we may rent is a farm with fishing rights to the river Clwyd.

Has anyone fished this river and is it really only a game fishing river as my google searches suggest or is it good for coarse angling too?

I'm in Mid wales and have a mate who lives up that way. He didn't think that there are any coarse fish in the river Clwyd.

I've done a search to find out and if you have a look here http://www.stasaph.co.uk/leisure/anglef.html
it tells you that there are no coarse fish in there.

if you copy and paste the following into your search engine it should help you find some coarse fishing near the farm house.

Best off getting down to Rhyl or Conwy, get on a boat and catch some big dogfish, thornbacks, flounders. Some nice mackerel there too, ideal for pikey deadbaits!

Cheers, I was thinking of going on a sea fishing excursion whilst there.

With regards to the river if I get into the fly fishing at Press Manor in a month or so I may well give that a bash.
