Liverpool-Leeds Canal

Hi All,

Are there any decent stretches of the Liverpool-Leeds canal around Lancs area for spinning for perch (in particular)and pike?

There was an article in CF or IYCF a couple of years back, cant remember the exact stretches featured, just get your walking boots on and go and explore as there is loads of untapped potential!

I have fished the Leads to Liverpool from Blackburn heading east, From Accrington heading east and from Foulridge, near Burnley and again heading east.
Never had much success with plugs or spinners, but spinning with sprats have always caught.
Best fish have only been around 7lb mark, plenty between 2 to 5lb. Heard several tales of fish to over 15lb in the Blackburn area and out towards Rishton and Accrington.
It pays to roam.
