Fishing in Liverpool

I shall be spending two or three days in Liverpool after a week in north Wales later this year. Probably the 30th and 31st of July and the 1st of August. Whilst in town I'm hoping to do a spot of fishing and wondered if anyone local may care to join me.

I'd like to target some saltwater species and learn a few tactics and tricks if possible as I know very little about this.

Any offers, pointers, hints and tips gratefully received.
