Hi Guys

Anyone used this for Carp fishing apart from what I have seen on the Korda DVDs? Have heard rumours it wears rings out. Is this an old wives tale?

BS in question is 30lb.

Never used whiplash but fireline cuts into the run rings when river fishing. I found using the longer lead safty clips worked better with no damage to the clip.

ive been using it for the last few years on my beach and boat rods, ive not noticed any wear to the rings.

Hi Thanks for that. It was the rod rings I meant - SiCs. I think alan's post about sea fishing were tackle is put through greater stresses is reasurring - although its interesting to know about run rings wearing through.

Korda don't mention that one do they!!!!

Sorry no problems with any of my rod rings. Have used fireline on beechcasters and my carp and barbel rods. Some of the cheap rings have problems with there rings and braid most of the quality rods are fine.
