My own thoughts on this are wide gage, inturn oint and inturn eye, something like the korda wide gape.

Have I got it right. There is a big silty mere on the horizon with some lumps in and IF I do get the ellusive run that everyones dreaming of then I`1d like to see it on the bank! : @ )

Personally 'fluke', I would be perhaps more concerned with playing style and action rather than the hook pattern, although the wide gape should do fine.

I would choose a barbed hook, should the fishery allow, as this will minimise movement in a soft mouth.

Choice of rig set-up may help too, perhaps go for something like the claw rig which turns very quickly. Or have a look at Stu's 'Weighted Rig'.

running leads will help to avoid 'bounce out', as will steering clear of flying backleads.
