Ive just finished watching "Screaming Reels" on T.V, and was very pleasantly suprised to see as large as life, 4 times world champion, Bob Nudd !!!
I must admit I was wondering what had become of him since the heady days of the early seventies when he fronted the popular glam rock band, The Rubettes. I remember watching him and the boys at The Salon ballroom in Northampton just after they hit the number one slot in 1974 with the classic "Sugar Baby Love"
Sadly the Salon no longer exists, it now forms part of the Northampton Saints Rugby Club but I will allways have fond memories of growing up in the seventies and of Bobs band. Its nice to see he not gone the way of many of the glam rock groups of that era, and has made a name for himself in the world of match fishing.
Why, he still wears his trademark white cap that was his on stage gimmick, God bless yer Bob!!!
