has anyone had this problem? i have just been lucky enough to buy a Hardy Swift fly rod retailing at ?359.00 imagine my horror whilst fishing one of our local waters casting forward when the top 2 sections flew off landing on the water if it wasnt for my fishing pal catching hold of it, it would now be at the bottom i cantacted hardys who advised rubbing candle wax on the spigots considering i have ondly used it twice not very good

I would agree but also have the same problem with a brand new fly rod I have too. Rubbing candle wax on does help.

The other thing to try is what spey casters do. Buy some "low adhesive" insulation tape (Scotch is the best at present) and tape your joints once you've put the rod up.
