spanish barbel

has anyone fished for barbel in spain.i'm thinking about giving it a go so could do with a bit of insider info into good areas,accomodation, bait etc'.anything will be of help. thanks and tight lines to you in the coming season.........steve

Look up John Bailey mate, he seems to have done a bit out there and written about it

just had 5 weeks fishing castilla y leon for barbel and carp. Predomnantly the rio duero , no big barbel but plenty of fish and some river carp.
Accomodation plenty of small pensions, hostals where i went ranging from 11 - 36 euros a night. Bait, i had fish on bread, corn, meat, pellet, boilies, worms , maggots and fly's.

many thanks to tom,sage & especially jim for your input.tom,i found a couple of articles by j.b.and i've got a couple of his books so i shall check them out,cheers mate.
with a bit of luck budgie will see this and will post a thread or two.
