Talked the wife into a boating holiday for next year probably May time, but have not yet booked anything, I know the canals can be fished in May but what about the Norfolk Broads? And will I need to buy and permits in advance or just day tickets when I fish. Draft question time - if I fish from the boat do I need a permit at all. I have a full year rod licence so that part is covered.
Also on the Broad can I catch small fish to use as either live or dead bait, on the canals I would guess that each controling section would have it's own rules?

You can't fish any of the Broads connected to the river system in the close season, not sure about the land-locked ones.

Thanks Chris - looks like it's the canals or go after 16 June then.
