just wondering as ive got some 45lb berkeley traces and their thicker than my other traces(even tho i catch fish)could i be putting some off?

If they're the Steelon lure traces which have been going cheap I used them on and off most of last season and found they were fine for bigger lures.

Dont reckon that the fish mind too much. They are used to picking up dead fish, possibly with bones sticking out, bits of twig on it etc... dont think that a bit of wire trace is going to put them off at all.

I use QED wire for its resistance to kinking and thats pretty thick stuff. I don't seem to get poorer results than other people I fish with (except for Mr Edwards, but he always was a jammy bugger!) so my view is that wire thickness isn't a major factor in not getting runs.

Yeagh QED is like barge rope! but it doesnt put them off at all.

Like it but too dear for me when you only get 5m on a spool.

But it does last for ages Chris. I find a spool of QED lasts as long as a spool of 7 strand as it kinks a lot less when you get a fish.

Are you on about using it for lure fishing Sean or with baits mate..?
