Thank you for the Severn Journey.

I have not fished the Severn for many years and yet your poetic description brought back many lovely memories.

I love your poem John but I do feel that "On pastoral waters as longboat chugs by" should be changed. Longboats were what Vikings used!

I think you mean narrowboats.

I am suitably chastised. In my defence I was aware that strictly speaking 'narrowboat' is the correct description. However, as it contains 3 syllables and does not 'scan' with the metre, I used the technically incorrect 'longboat' which has only two. It is called poetic licence!
