first barbel trip

Hiya guy's this is my first post so be gentle with me,i'm of to the trent at burton joyce for my first trip after barbel,i have an avon rod,ledgers ,cage feeders,shimano bait runner loaded with 10lb line,size 8 hook's and for bait i'm taking halibut pellet's,worm's,source boilies and luncheon meat so as you can see i have done a bit of research but what i would really like to know is where's the best place to fish,ie on the straight or on the outside of a bend,how far out i should cast and what is the optimum length for hook length,as you can see were the techincal stuff is concerned i'm a bit of a dunce so any help would be greatfully accepted,many thank

Fish at the top end of the Burton Joyce bellow the wear. You only have to fish thirty or so meters out to be into the Barbel. 18" hook lenght of 10lb braid would be best. Keep a steady flow of bait going in and if luck is with you!
I have only had Chub on this stretch during the day with the odd Barbel after dark.
