Looking for a bivvy

Following my last experience with a Shakespear Bivvy I am on the lookout for a replacement I fancy one that is easy to erect...a bonus at my age!
That is reliable and doesn't cost the earth I am thinking of the Fox easy dome has anyone got any experience of these??

I'm a shade over six foot and a tad bulky will it still be OK Malcolm?

Should be ok Alan, but others may disagree?? I think Rik may have an imput on this one? I'm more than a tad bulky, but a short-ar*e to go with it LOL.

On the negative side, if I have the bedchair set a bit higher to make it easier and more comfortable to get up and down from, and have the head end tilted up, then both ends of the bedchair touch the inner skin - which in turn causes the two skins to touch and thus cause a little condensation!!

The bedchair I have is the Chub Specialist which is I think fairly long!!

But I love the Fox Classic Easy Dome, its so compact and so easy/fast to erect and I can still find room for everything: rod holdall behind the chair, coat and other bits and bobs underneath, bait bags, tackle bags and food bags inside the small inner porch bit!!! Good quality zips and an inner mesh net to keep the mozzies out.

I think Brummie Paul also has one, so he may yet comment too. Good luck with your choice anyway Alan. ;O)

Fox Classic Easy Dome wins every time.

Try and see one up before you buy.

I also have a Gardner Pop-up Bivvy, but it's only single skin, so is absolutely useless in the winter.
Besides, they stopped selling it years ago.

Wendy, army and navy ones probably aren't what you want. If you are seriously fishing aver a couple of days, you really want a proper bivvy, double skin job made to take a bedchair. Have a look in the mags, they come in all price ranges, starting at around ?65 and going up to, well, several hundreds.

I remember when Paul gave me a LOL 1st time after a comment about crab flavoured boilies - cos that was all there was on the reply - & I was thinking have I offended him? What does that mean? Is it a secret clique code?
A week or so later I came across LOL in the Guardian:
LOL = Laughing Out Loud
Some people mistakenly think it means Lots Of Love, & I'm sure there's a bit of that going on this site as well????????
But it's a good point & something I & perhaps others should have asked before as the others I can't remember or don't know. I can imagine someone who has little experience of web speak coming on this site for the 1st time being confused by abbreviations, never mind the ongoing gags.
I think the 'techno' heads such as Wendy etc could write a little list for us & Graham could put it on the site?
GTGIGTMTBSB! (Got to go, I've got to make the boss some breakfast).

Alan,

Contact Joe Taylor in Bicester, was out this weekend with Phil Smith, he's just got the JRC dome, VERY good quality material, lots of space inside, air vent built in, and when Phil told me the price i thought he was joking. ?80 new. 100% bargain mate.

Ps have his number if you need it.
