Tees Barbel

My season has started really well four tees chub just over the four lbs mark and lots between 1.5 and 3.0 lbs taken to 10mm banded pellet wraped in trout pellet paste but so far no Barble. I am Thornaby AA and Middlesbrough AC member. I am fishing week day afternoons till dark and have concentrated on the faster swims leading into deeper water. I know Barble are being caught on the Tees had one of 7lbs in 2004, but thats the only one. Any advice, the Tees is a dark water making spotting very difficult but not impossible. I know of a 9lb fish taken in a recent match but dont know the peg number.

The Tees boys on their seem like a friendly bunch.

John, I think you need to keep an eye on the match results. I've just had a chat to Neil at the Tackle Box at Billingham. Top spots for Barbel are peg 20 on the association stretch at Dinsdale and peg 60 on the Thornaby stretch again at Dinsdale. I'm also told it is fishing very well for Chub.
Last year Broken Scar at Darlington produced some Barbel but I haven't been this year.
