Hi all,

I'm new to sea angling. I'm heading down to Bantry in west cork (ireland). Having just read gary's article I'm all fired up.

First of all can anyone explain the best way to rig a jelly worm? and Where to position the weights etc.. and what ones are best?
Also any tips in general for a shore angler using pike tackle.

If anyone knows any hot spots near bantry I'd be most grateful.

On our recent trip to the Beara we rigged up the worms using size 3 o circle hooks. Can't remember the make but you feed the worm onto the hook point until the shank is buried in the worm. I then used a snap to attach the worm to some 18 inches of 20lb mono. Before attaching this to my main line I would slide a drilled bullet and bead onto the main line and join the two ends with a swivel.

Just experiment with the worms. Mag grubs work as do the storm sandeels. Storm shads and spinners all do the business.

Don't know about the marks round Bantry but I'm sure you will have some fun!
