By now anyone who's written in will probably have had the standard letter back from Dr Mark Diamond, the EA's north-west fisheries chief.

In the letter, it invites you to withdraw your objection - it's most important that p[eople write back and state that having had the EA's response, they wish to upohold their objection.

Otherwise, they can say a lot of people wrote in but did not pursue their objections once the EA had outlines its case.

Good one Chris!!!.....i have no doubt that a no reply would enable them to count it as a withdrawn objection, don't let them get away with that one guys!!!

Correct Chris, well pointed out - Why not ask them if they'd like to withdraw their proposal at the same time !!!!!!!

I'm afraid I can't see that happening. In fact I'm not sure what happens next, I think the proposal gets referred to the secretary of state's office - and they've already had recommendations to adopt something similar in the salmon and freshwater fisheries review.
