Eric,

Excuse my ignorance but what species are we taking about?

I'm assuming wild brown trout...

Gary,

Taupo is THE rainbow water. Plenty of big browns too.
I caught nothing to speak of from Taupo, but a Maori guide walked past me one night carrying a double figure brown and a rainbow about 8 or 9lb. Awesome.

I did get to cast to a brown of about 15lb one night. We spotted it from a bridge with the aid of a torch. I got into position and started casting to it, just to have it spooked by by my Kiwi mate who shone the torch right on the fish whilst I was fishing....

Gary, I'm a member of RADAC & I got the Letter about the talk this morning and it doesn?t mention species.

I just thought it was a good idea to post it on here, my logic being it might swell the numbers attending thus increasing the amount of money going to the Hodder Consultative Salmon Propagation Scheme.
