Not yet, but I dare say that I will test them out at some point.

I will also be trying them out soon, but will probably stick to my current favourite: 'Terry Eustace Penetrator Two'.

I feel a bit guilty here having posted this on a Carp forum as my target species is barbel. In my defence having fished for carp in the past, I have a feeling that the carp guys are usually the first to pick up on new bits of kit. Now I could be in trouble with the barbel boys.
Carp Angler was dead right about his advice given in the past about T6's - this eventually made me go the Owner 50188 route.
So I'll retire to my trench now, steel helmet on and await responses undercover.
Cheers
Bob

It's the same as the ESP Raptor but teflon coated and slightly heavier in the wire.

I've got some and will be giving them a try tomorrow and next week. Will report back with any observations - let's hope the fish are feeding.

ESP is a sub division of Drennen International and is headed up by Adam Penning and also endorsed/Consulted/designed by Terry Hearn.

They make specialist carp tackle.
Everything from rods, line, hooks, swivels etc etc.
Their hooks are particularly good and, as Bob will testify, have been taken up by the barbel boys (me included).

Their Raptors (as in the dinosaur) are super sharp and very strong and they make several shapes of this, being the G4 and T6.

Their new Big T's are an adaptation of the old hooks, they have a Teflon coating (so they penetrate easier) and are heavier gauge (so they are even stronger).

Their only draw back, IMHO, is that because they are so sharp, the points have a tendency to blunt (or slightly bend over) when they come into contact with gravel etc.

Rik,
You were right..the T6's that I've been using for around a year now and their points do tend to slightly bend over when you've had a contact with gravel etc. I know some other people that have noticed this problem and recently switched to Owner 50188's that do not suffer so much and are very sharp. I must admit I like the design of the Big T although I'm a bit dubious about the Teflon coating - that could be just me 'cos I'm a bit of a cynic.

Only time and testing will tell....

I used to use these hooks in barbless. They were a great success for me but they discontinued them. I have since learned (debatably) that micro barbed hooks cause less damage to the fish anyway and have moved onto the Korda Long Shanks in size 10 or 8.
