Braid to mono knots?

Hi all,
I am looking to load Drennan Feeder Braid on to my reels but want to add mono backing first otherwise this will just be a waste of line and money!
a) What knot should I consider using to join the braid to the mono with b)whenever tying any knots in this braid should I slide the outer coating back to expose the Dyneema core itself?
Any help would be appreaciated.

well i use loop-2-loop connections as these are self cushioning and very secure i use it at both ends of my braid (that way i can reverse regulary to even out wear) as i also use ready tied hooks-2-nylon so they are quick and easy to change.

(i have braid on one of my centre-pins and a closed faced reels for trotting)
