I live in Yorkshire where there was around half an inch of rain yesterday and I reckon there has been another half inch today, with no sign of a let up. The forecast is for rain then heavy showers overnight.

Do any of you experts have any feel as to how levels will be on The Trent tonight?

Have a look at the rainfall in the Trent catchment. That is Staffs, Derbyshire, Notts and West Midlands.

Probably the two rivers that affect the level of the Trent most, other than the upper Trent itself are the Derbyshire Dove and Derwent.

depends on amount and duration of rain, but it can take 2 or 3 days for it to have much effect.

when I was a regular on matches, usualy any rain after thursday did not affect the weekend matches

massive catchment area though so a bit unpredictable
