It does seem that the much needed rains have now arrived.

Let's have a few reports from different parts of the country.

In Cambridgeshire and Rutland there has been some really heavy showers and it poured it down all night in Rotherham.

How's the rainfall where you live?

It's been chucking it down in Rugby over the past 2 or 3 days.

What I would like to see is 2 or 3 weeks of steady soft soaking rain, not deluges.

The soft rain will penetrate the aquifers and fill up the ground water systems.

Spoke to my mother in Rugby on the phone and it's been chucking it down for a few days ;-) sorry Adrian!

It's just getting heavy in Stockton and the north east after a couple of days of drizzle.

We had a thunderstorm last night up here in the Yorkshire Dales with some very heavy rain but it didn?t last long. Rang Rivercall this morning and the Ribble was only at NSL and falling. The latest rain has therefore only lifted the Ribble about 2? and now its dropping again. However, as I type this we?ve had a few hours of light rain and it looks like it could continue for the rest of the day. Can?t make my mind up whether to go fishing tonight or tomorrow? But there again, I could go tonight and tomorrow, our lass will be out shopping with her sister and she's not likely to give me too much earache???????

Rain, rain, I don't want any rain thank you Ron I'm off to Scotland on the 26th August.

If I have a wet holiday it will be you I blame and you can pay my prescription charges for my anti depressants when I get back.
