I recently purchased some ready weighted floats and having not used them before asked the assistant what was the best way to set the float up his advice was to put some dust shot to stop it slipping that didnt work each time i made a cast the weight of the float made it slide down the line ending up resting against the hook has anyone know the best way to attach the float ta

Get a good selection of float rubbers or,if its the eyed variety, put size ones either side of the eye, they are seldom fully weighted.

I use leger stops. Very quick and simple to move about when you're plumbing up or want to change depth, plus they don't damage your line.

You'll still need a smattering of shot down the line to cock the float properly and for presentation.
