I thought it was a good question actually.
For as long as I can remember they have been sold as different types of rod.

I know Baz, the tip rod is the old one you give the dustman and the feeder rod is the one you throw in the river to attract the fish.
I never got where I am today by not knowing that.....
Oh! and the porky pig is Miss Piggy before she went on a diet.

Feeder rod is made to be used with a feeder, quiver is supposed to be used with a bomb/lead???

I know what you're getting at Baz and in my early angling days I wondered what I was supposed to be buying! The truth is many 'quiver' rods are also suitable for small feeders!
Is it just another variety of rod we are 'supposed' to have in our holdall?

It's a bit like all the different pole floats, they are designed to be used with one specific bait. Infact they catch more fishermen than fish!
