I was trying to tie a half tucked blood knot to a size 22 micro swivel on the weekend using some 2.5lb low diameter line and after three attempts of using spit to lubricate the line and ending up with a pigtail I tried again but put a big dollop of neat washing up liquid onto the knot (i had some in a bottle to sink my reel line) i pulled the knot tight hey presto absolutely perfect knot. It felt silky smooth as i pulled the knot tight, think this is something i will remember for next time.

Some lines don't really like the tucked blood knot. I was knoting some high tech hook length the other day and every time I tested the knot it started to slip. The line had a very shiny finish, as did the hook. I am sure that the knot was tied properly and after three attempts I gave up and used a palomar knot instead, which I should have used in the first place. It may be simpler for you to do the same.

yes the palomar knot is good, very strong and doesnt cause pig tails can be a bit bulky though
