How do all,

I've booked a holiday cottage in Goodrich near Ross-on-Wye for the first week in October and would like to get some fishing in (if she lets me).
Does anyone know any good venues in the locality? The cottage fronts on to the river Wye and I'm wondering if this stretch would hold game fish? I'm sure the course fishing would be excellent this far down, but i really would like to get the fly gear out.

Any suggestions?

You're not very far from Bigsweir, just downstream from Monouth, if you wanted to have a go for Salmon.

As for trout fishing, you'd be best off having a look at Wye & Usk Foundation as they may well hold beats down that way and they are VERY reasonable when it comes to prices.

I've just had a look at the Wye & Usk Foundation and I've sent for the passport. It looks excellent, lots of wild little waters, right up my street.

Could allways cast a fly for the chub as well?
