Since looking at the photo of Barney and his missus, I am reminded of just how ugly these things are.

The fish I mean!! :eek:)

Virtually all the catfish I have caught in my life have been the African variety of course which don't grow as big as the Wels. But they are just as ugly.

I've never caught a large catfish.

The ones in Mississippi were on average around 3 to 5 pounds, but fried catfish is very good, in fact it is a Southern States staple food.

ron,you will have to organize a catfish shindig.the recent fishing magic one at beaver farm was enjoyed by all and we cant wait to have another go.
