Whilst on the subject of "Alternative" waters in mid-cheshire is the trent and mersey canal around Northwich any good in the winter?
I have caught odd fish in the summer but have never bothered beyond september as i usually move on to other species.

It can be very good,but like everwhere else in winter it can be poor aswell.The willow on the second wide fished from the tow path can be good. Do you have a Northwich AA card?
