You could do Scouser mate but it will impair you ability to hit bites I should think.
If you're fishing with any slack line between you rod tip and the float then the soft quiver tip is only going to delay the striking action reaching the float even longer.
If it's an Avon style rod with two top sections then use the Avon top instead. It'll give a closer action to a float rod than the quiver.
Won't damage the quiver though if that's what you mean.
Yep its a shakesspeare avon tetra specialist, 2peice, 11ft, 1 peice is for swing tip, ie screw in, the other peice is permanent yellow tip, so would this sort of rod be capable of hitting good bites??
avon tetra,,use the yellow tip for legering with the rod set at an angle of about70 degree's to the water, other for (heavy)floatfishing or straight legering using bobbins etc.not bad rods but a little floppy for my liking, then again avons are supposed to be soft actioned..will cast a 1oz. lead about 100 yds with a half decent reel and line.....
If you're fishing the quiver however, and you want to float fish very close in, you could just put a float on quickly, not what it was designed for but it would do!
Best bet get your hand in your pocket for a float rod though mate, what are the tackle shops like there?
