all the talk is the trent at collingham and the famous wear swim , but is it actally worth fishing away from the weir to get away from the heavy fishing any tips
The Trent has barbel in it from Stoke-on-Trent to Keadby I?d get out and do some pioneering if I were you. Plenty of water to go at there, who knows you might just find a few fish that have never seen a hook before.
There are barbel in virtually every single Collingham (or indeed Trent) swim at some stage of the season. Try an evening session with minimal gear hopping swims until you find barbel. Take note of the conditions etc and begin to build a picture of where the barbel are. The bigger fish are not usually in the same swims during the winter that they will frequent in the summer.
