Bobbin/Hanger. Springer. Swinger. Monkey climber.

Those various indicators work in different ways. How do you get the best out of them?

What is your favourite bite indicator and in what situations do you use it?
Also where would you set it on your rod in realation to the bite alarm and rod rings and why?

In your opinion is there an optimum length for swinger arms?

Send it to Graham Jim.

I must admit to haveing a soft spot for the Monkey Climber. Although they are most probably not the most sensitive or adjustable like the Swinger. I tend to look at the Monkey climber as a fun thing nowadays. On the odd occasion that I use one I allways position it at an angle rather than upright.

I position the needle between the reel and first rod ring. The rod ring being just in front of the bite alarm towards the butt end of the rod.

Another question.
Would the type of indicator you are useing depend on what end rig you had on to get the best from it?
