Where is the best place to buy live sandeels from. Willing to travel and bulk buy if necessary, there seems to be a major shortage of them this year...

There used to be a place on Anglesey but you're looking probably 6-8 hours.

Am sure one of the south coast shops could point you in the right direction though mate!

Your journey back from Anglesey will do them in mate!

I reckon your local charter boat skippers would be your best bet.

Are they really ?1.50 each Alan? KINELL!

live sand eel's are a great bait, was down in the newquay a couple of weeks ago, float fishing for pollock down the side of the headland, great results and a great bait, but as Eddie C says they do go off quick but u could use an airrater just depends on how far you are willing to go to keep the bait fresh ! Catching them live can be a bit of fun as they are quick!

in teignmouth, local sandeel netsmen sell enough to last 2 or 3 wreck anglers all day for around a tenner!

Have you tried asking the local dinghy anglers? Round here we all have our own small sandeel trawlnets and usually end up returning
dozens alive unused, or maybe somebody seine
nets from the beaches they do in S.Wales and the S.W.
