Four of us are back on the Wye next month. In conversation we suddenly realised that should the worst happen and heavy rains make the river unfishable we haven't a clue as to alternative venues. Can anyone help?

Yes John, Drummonds is a good all round fishery, there is othing big in there but there are roach, rudd, tench, skimmers and bream. Its the one you you can see on your left as you go down the hill on the M50 as you near Ross. If you want the exact location let me know and I will email it to you. It is not a very good area for pools believe me, they are few and far between.
