I had intended doing a review, but for obvious reasons I will not. However I will mention here what I believe is one of the most important and truly great angling books to appear in recent years. Along with **** Walker's biography by the late Prof. Barrie Rickards; "A History of Carp Fishing Revisited" by Kevin Clifford, is an update of his earlier tome published in 1992. It is extremely well researched and written, and the photographs alone are worth the money.
Make no mistake this is a true labour of love and covers the introduction of carp to Britain through to the development of carp tackle, and more than anything, who did it and when. But this book could have been the history of coarse angling and where we are today, specifically in the field of specialist and specimen angling.
If you are a carp angler, or if you are an angler with any sense of history, "A History of Carp Fishing Revisited" is a must have for your bookshelf
Priced at £40.00 it is available from Sandholme Publishing and Carp Talk.
