dont follow the crowds, find your fish yourself.

Oh I'd forgot that one! Doh! Also spend more time on looking and watching, swim preparation, and prebaiting than you do actually fishing. For example if I was doing a short 4 hour session then I'd feed the swim for 3 hours and only fish the last hour. Try to exercise self control and not just chuck in straight away. Its better to fish 10 minutes in a properly prepared swim then 10 hours in a bad one.

Use a slow tapering quivertip or upstream leger for them, especially on pressured waters. As both offer the hook bait at a fairly constant and low level of pressure.

Don't get into discussions on internet forums about the in's and out's of bolt rigs and hair rigs for chub as it will drive you nuts! ;):eek::wh

on mall rivers dont make a sound or movement you WILL spook them unless the water is high and coloured
